Building an Ethereum Node for Staking w/ Rocket Pool – Part 2: Software & Syncing

Build a local Ethereum node for validating and staking using popular software/hardware components. This second video covers getting the latest software, choosing ETH 1.0 and 2.0 clients and syncing your nodes clients with the Ethereum blockchain.

The Ethereum merge is upon us, where the current Ethereum Mainnet will “merge” with the beacon chain proof-of-stake system. Kiln, the latest merge testnet, has launched meaning the proof-of-stake transition is underway. Additional shadowforks are currently being used to test the additional testnets. Prepare for this event on the mainnet by setting up a local, decentralized Ethereum validation node. The multipart series will cover an end-to-end build, setup, deployment, and maintenance of an Ethereum node using the Rocket Pool CLI. Rocket Pool is a first of its kind ETH2 Proof of Stake Protocol, designed to be community owned, decentralized and trustless. Stake your Ether without the need for centralized services.
